The NSBA Foundation is pleased to announce the results of its 2026 Calendar Photo Contest which includes presenting the winning photographer with a brand-new 2026 4-Star Trailer!

Daisy Rakan's "Dream Big" Named Overall Winner

Daisy Rakan, of Traverse City, Michigan, was named the overall photo contest winner with her photo, “Dream Big,” that will be published as the February photo in the calendar. As a result of her winning photo submission, Daisy was presented with a 2026 2-Horse Bumper Pull Trailer, courtesy of 4-Star Trailers, during the Pinto World Championship Show on June 13. 

Daisy also submitted other winning photo entries that will appear in the 2026-2027 academic calendar, including Golden Fall” for September, “A Fairy & Her Unicorn” for October, “Fancy and Festive” for December, “Flo In The Snow” for January, and “Legs Too Long” for March.“ 

Other photographers who earned publishing rights in the 2026-2027 calendar include Corrine Hunt for “Im Huntin No Doubt” for September, and Anna Ingram with “Just One More Snack” in November, Addy Shorts for her photo “Spring Formal” in April, Jessica Hein for “Top Of The Class” for May, Kayla Bloede for “Winners Celebrate Together” for June and Sharon Cowher with “Bat Girl Is Watching” for July. 

Photos were submitted in February and March, and votes were secured in April to determine the photos that will appear in the 2026-2027 calendar. The donate-to-vote effort provided funds for the NSBA Foundation’s Youth Of The Year and Susan Scott Memorial Fund Scholarship. The NSBA Foundation thanks all those who submitted photos and donated to vote for their favorites in the contest. 

The 2026-2027 calendar will be available for purchase at the NSBA Foundation booth at the 2026 NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders Championship Futurity or online at gogophotocontest.com/nsbafoundation26/purchase. All funds continue to support the Youth Of The Year Award and the Susan Scott Memorial Fund Scholarship. Calendar orders will be accepted through August 31, 2026. 

The NSBA Foundation is grateful to 4-Star Trailers for their ongoing support of the Youth Of The Year Award and the Susan Scott Memorial Fund Scholarship, and thanks the Pinto Horse Association for the generous opportunity to present the winning photographer during the Pinto World Championship Show.

About The NSBA Foundation Youth Of The Year Award

The NSBA Foundation’s Youth Of The Year Award is presented annually to an NSBA youth member who demonstrates exemplary character in helping others through community service and volunteer work for a worthy cause. The winning recipient receives a $7,500 scholarship from the Susan Scott Memorial Fund. In addition to the scholarship, the NSBA Foundation will also present a $500 donation to the charity of choice in the recipient’s name. 

The NSBA Foundation also presents up to four National Finalists with a $2,000 stipend. Finalists are recognized at the annual NSBA Honors banquet during the NSBA World Championship Show and Breeders Championship Futurity in August.
